Unitarianism 101

Thanks for visiting our web site and welcome to 'Unitarianism 101'. It's a collection of sermons tailored over the years for newcomers visiting out church. 'Experienced' Unitarians have also found them useful when looking for ways to describe our sometimes hard to pin down faith.

I hope this collection will answer at least some of your questions about Unitarianism. Perhaps you will find ideas here compatible with your way of thinking. If so, I invite you to come for a visit if you can. We offer a lot more than my musings. We welcome all visitors, but we don't apply pressure. Our church is based on respect for people and their faith choices, and we certainly don't think we have all the answers.

So, please enjoy. If you have more specific questions, I would be happy to try to answer them. You can reach me at brikie@aol.com or by phone at 780-455-9797

It is drawn from the history of the Christian Reformation in Czechoslovakia where Jan Hus asserted that all members of the congregation, and not only the priests, should be allowed to drink from the chalice at holy communion. Hus was burned at the stake for his efforts, but his followers persisted in building a church that believes in the "priesthood of all believers."
